I haven't been very inspired this last week. The weather continues cold - 4 degrees above zero this morning. Some days we actually get some sunshine and the snow either compacts or melts a little around the edges. Winter begins to wear. This also is the day that Dorothy has her thyroid removed - We are wishing her the best recovery time. She meets life with a determination to see things through, and looks on the bright side of things.

Mother came out of the surgery quite well - the surgeon says that she was pleased with the amount she was able to remove (much of the lymph node is surrounded in neck muscle, so it's an endeavor to remove it all). She'll be in the hospital for a few days more, but then she'll be on the road to recovery! ...until the radiation starts.

To Dorothy we send our love and best wishes for her recovery. She has always been a fighter and I'm certain this will not be an exception.

We all want to be Dorothy's cheerleaders. She has been blessed with strong will and it will pay off for her. Hmmm. Who does it remind you of? Maybe her own mother?
