It's the Quilts

Love this picture.  John had it on his electronic device, and gave it to me.  As you can see, it was taken a while ago, because Aline looks very little, and Kai isn't in the picture, but I appreciate it because it shows off the grandma quilts that I made these precious great-grandchildren.  (And grand-daughter.  Sara's Phil took this picture  - very nice.

We Go to Idaho Falls for the After-Graduation Day

 Sonja, who has risen to the occasion with every new challenge that comes her way.  Her children still go to her for advice - experience is the best teacher, and sometimes someone who has been there helps us avoid some mistakes.

 Denton and Taylor - the new graduates.  Taylor still will do her student teaching in the fall at Ammon, just a little south of Idaho Falls.  Denton began work today at his new job in Idaho Falls.  Big steps for these kids who are really no longer kids!  Congratulations!

Bethany - the chic college co-ed.  She is working this summer for the college at maintenance - earning some money will help school ambitions.  Fun and talented young woman.

Seeing grandchildren grow and become independent is very satisfying.  It is refreshing to be around these grandchildren,  who are going ahead with their lives with great optimism in the future.  We had a delightful day with them and their mother and younger brother.

Addendum

It's magic!  Seth opened the cupboard, set the timer on the camera, set it on some glasses, and we all said cheese at the same time.  I am dressed the best, but that doesn't matter.  We are so fortunate to have these grandchildren, and we wish the best for them.

Thanksgiving, 2012

Our Thanksgiving visitors were so welcome!  I didn't think to take pictures until the morning they were leaving!  However, Wendy took many pictures of our day, and you can find out all about our Thanksgiving on her Facebook page.  (This was her first Thanksgiving.)  Bethany has her warmest hat on  - ready to brave the cold.  We really enjoyed Thanksgiving this year - everyone pitched in and helped, and we have much to be thankful for.  For now, it's back to Laramie for Seth and Wendy, and back to the windblown plains of Rexburg for Bethany.  We are thankful for all of our grandchildren - they are very special.

Visitors from the North

We had a good time last weekend with grandson Denton and his wife, Taylor.  It is so wonderful to see both of them, and see how grownup they have become.   They are doing so well, and we are very proud of them.  The goal right now is to graduate from college, and they are both working at jobs outside of school so that they won't be encumbered with debt when they're finished.  Smart kids - although I guess 1 can't call them kids any more, since they are behaving in such a responsible way.  Makes  grandparents proud.
