Down by the Riverside

This long-ago wintry day was celebrated by Louise, Judy, and me with a walk down to the river in the snow.  We were dressed pretty warmly, but it was the idea of the photographer (me) to have them pose in the snow.  Dumb idea, but the pictures, taken with the old Baby Brownie, turned out okay.  Louise must have been  working away from home, and was home for the weekend.  Maybe you remember?
Anyway, these are good memories - I would probably have forgotten this time, except for the pictures that remain to tell about it.

The Quilt Show Continues

Hearts and Gizzards - Louise has always wanted to make this one - lots of hand applique in this one.  Very striking!
And, below, the Wedding Ring quilt done in pinks and white.
This beauty was done at a retreat - Looks pretty difficult to me!
And, this is Cheryl's gorgeous sampler quilt.  Enlarge below so that you can see the batik on the border.  Absolutely beautiful quilt.
You can see why we were so busy talking quilts.  Lots of material here.  (No pun intended.)  What a fun day!

Quilts Galore, with Louise and Cheryl

Louise and Cheryl came to see us yesterday, and with apologies to Ron, we talked quilts.  First, we had to have Show 'n Tell, and it was certainly worth it.

These pictures loaded in the opposite sequence from what I planned.  Above and below is Louise's creation from a very old pattern she had saved.  She does such exquisite work. and the quilt is totally charming.

This baby quilt had each block carefully embroidered, and touched up with a little color.  Louise hand-quilted this one - creating an heirloom that will be loved and used.  Love that happy smile - reflects Louise's sunny outlook.
