Visitors from the North

We had a good time last weekend with grandson Denton and his wife, Taylor.  It is so wonderful to see both of them, and see how grownup they have become.   They are doing so well, and we are very proud of them.  The goal right now is to graduate from college, and they are both working at jobs outside of school so that they won't be encumbered with debt when they're finished.  Smart kids - although I guess 1 can't call them kids any more, since they are behaving in such a responsible way.  Makes  grandparents proud.

Denton & Taylor

Denton & Taylor came down from Rexburg Sunday afternoon to visit - We appreciated getting to know Taylor better, and also enjoyed Denton's happy spirit. One of our friends had baked me a birthday cake, so we got to share that with them - Very appropriate, since my birthday was Saturday and Denton's on the 30th. Denton & Taylor are making all kinds of adjustments as they are in their 3rd month of wedded bliss. Being full-time students and learning the ropes of married life keeps them very busy. We were pleased to hear that they have planted a garden. They seem to have their priorities in a very good place. There is joy in seeing young people who have set their feet on a positive path in life.

Guests of the Wedding Reception and Later

Bethany - difficult to get a candid shot of this beautiful teenager, but I managed, after discarding about ten shots. She is classic! She is also very original, and oozes talent in the field of art. The paternal grandparents - Ron, bride Taylor, groom Denton, and Grandma Eliz. The other set of grandparents, Ken and Connie Cook with grandson Denton and new wife, Taylor. These are occasions that grandparents like to attend, to see beloved grandchildren off on the grand adventure of life that marriages are - probably lots of ups and downs and growth to be made as yet. They are so young and innocent - only they can determine their future life, as they work together. We do wish them the best.

The Wedding Reception

Denton and Taylor dance the first dance - after the cake fiasco. Taylor and Denton, Sonja and Kemp Arrilla, Taylor, denton, Sonja, Kemp, and Bethany - The reception was well-attended. Many friends of both Taylor and Denton made the trip to the reception, as well as family. Happy occasion for all concerned. We traveled to Boise on Friday to attend the reception that evening. What a challenge to be setting out on one of life's biggest adventures - better faced when young and optimistic. Life to be lived to the fullest.
