The Dog Days of Summer
Our neighbor's sheepdog, Bo, comes to our patio door frequently, partly because Ron gives him a bone to gnaw on every morning for a treat, and partly because he just likes to hang out here. (He's been known to drop a commercial dog bone treat on the patio in payment for the real one that Ron gives him.) Then, he often takes his ease on the grass - this is a particularly ungraceful pose, but he seems to be very comfortable. I suppose that the warmer the days get, the more comfortable the cool, damp grass is to a very old dog. Ah, for the uncomplicated (?) life of a dog.

Now this is the kind of dog even a non-lover of dogs could like. He comes, he visits, eats some scraps, enjoys a pat on the head and goes home.
Yes, that is one lucky dog! And very lucky "foster owners," all the love and none of the vet expences, unless you count the bones and scraps from the market, and then all the love that goes into prepareing it(boiling, cooking of some kind, maybe barbequeing, smoking, whatever.) And I'm sure pretty soon you are going to have to pave the trail between the real owners and you. Maybe I'm giving out too many secrets here, sorry Dad. No, really I love Bo and think you all have the best of both worlds.
